Q: How do I register to vote?
Visit our action center to get started.
Q: Can I vote by mail?
Yes! On August 14th, Governor Murphy announced that New Jersey will have a “hybrid” election Nov. 3, with mostly mail-in voting but a select number of in-person polling locations across the state. All voters will be mailed a ballot, and can either mail in the ballot, drop it in a secure drop box being set up across the state, or take it to one of the select physical polling locations.
Q: Can I vote early?
New Jersey will mail a ballot to all active, registered voters for the General Election. Check your county clerk’s office for more information on when and how to vote early.
Q: Do I need an ID?
Ok, so if you completed your registration in the past and have voted before, you’re all set. If you’re a first-time voter or want to finish your registration on Election Day, you will need to bring a photo ID or a copy of a utility bill, bank statement, or paycheck.
Q: This is my home state, but I won't be home for this election. Can I still vote here?
Yes! You can request your ballot be mailed to you at home, fill it out, then mail it back. This is called an absentee ballot, and you must request it by October 27th.
