Yes, you can vote by mail without an excuse. The deadline to request your ballot is Saturday Oct 24, and Monday Nov 2nd if requested online. Ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday Nov 3rd. Request your mail-in ballot
Q: Can I vote early?
Yes, both by early absentee and by in-person voting. The first day you can vote early in person is Monday, Oct 19th. The last day you can vote early in person is Monday, Nov 2nd.
Q: Do I need an ID?
Yes, you need a photo ID to be able to vote: An Alaska driver’s license, a State ID card, a U.S passport, a Military ID card, a voter ID card, an Alaska hunting or fishing license, a current utility bill, paycheck, bank statement, or government issued document all work.
Q: This is my home state, but I won't be home for this election. Can I still vote here?
Yes you can vote by mail as long as you are registered in this state. You can request your ballot be mailed to you at home, then mail or fax it back. This is called a no-excuse absentee ballot, and you must request it by Oct 24th if requesting by mail, or by Monday Nov 2nd if requesting online. All ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday Nov 3rd.
